SHAPE:
The 1905 BIGBOY CAP is a casual cap with a firm peak that can be easily bent into shape and a soft round head sewn from eight spikes. A button is sewn on at the top of the head for decoration. The outer fabric is pulled over the peak to the middle.

Our 1905 BIGBOY Dune Green has an incredibly multifaceted color scheme. In the foreground you can see a dark green that is reminiscent of seaweed, behind it a subtle hint of light turquoise shines through. The fabric is interspersed with bars of brown, petrol and rust tones. Everything is color-coordinated with the utmost precision. Despite the many color nuances, the pattern of the cap is structured, tidy and clear. The fabric is reminiscent of the colors of the Scottish coasts, where the Lovat weaving mill has been producing high-quality fabrics for centuries.

A fabric with a history as rich as the Scottish Highlands, Lovat Tweed embodies not only elegance and tradition, but also sustainability and longevity. Inspired by the Scottish landscape, Lovat Tweed exudes a natural and authentic beauty that is admired around the world. Made from high-quality virgin wool, this tweed is particularly robust and durable, ideal for outdoor adventures or urban elegance. But Lovat Tweed is more than just a fabric - it is a symbol of Scottish craftsmanship and culture, woven with the stories of times gone by and worn by prominent figures such as Winston Churchill and Sean Connery. Its roots go back to the 14th century, when Lord Lovat founded the company. Today, as it has been for generations, Lovat Tweed is made with attention to detail and traditional know-how to preserve its incomparable quality and authenticity. Discover the timeless beauty and versatility of our Lovat Tweed caps - a fabric for those who value style, tradition and sustainability.

Can it be a little bigger? The 1905 BIGBOY CAP lives up to its name, because it is a modified form of the 1920 NEWSBOY +, even more volume, even more flexible in its own design. In contrast to the NEWSBOY CAPS, the 1905 BIGBOY CAP has no bridge and therefore appears even rounder.

Who hasn't seen them, the old black and white photographs from the turn of the century? Everyone wore a head covering: newspaper boys, dock and steel workers, farmers, beggars, criminals, every trade. Only the noble gentlemen and ladies wore hats back then. The numerous variants of the caps were intended for busy life, mostly for work, but also for sport. The name slider cap goes back to the old Berlin term "Schieber" for foreman. This type of cap was also rediscovered, now free of prejudice and class, it won over free spirits and artists. But it still carries a symbol within it. Because no one can deny that a cap wearer exudes an individuality that would be much less without it.
